WARREN STOKER SERVICE If the municipality of Greater Asheville were to make an annual award to an outstanding: citizen and business man it could not find a more worthy representative than E. L. Warren, executive of the E. L. Warren Stoker Service, 273 Biltmore Ave., phone 3-5379, who through his years of business deal ings is well identified with the people of his city and area. E. L. Warren is as familiar with every part of his business as most people are with the alpha bet—this is his distinguishing characteristic, which has made his service of such great value to the people. And it can truthfully be said that the success of his busi ness is dtie to his ability and skill. He performs all of his duties methodically, never wearying in their dispatch. Mr. Warren is always faithful, patient, competent, accurate and a popular business executive. He is a public-spirited man and takes an active interest in every move ment which promises to promote the moral or material welfare of his great city and our state. He gives much of his time, means and ability to civic endeavors that benefit Asheville and her people. His generosity, hospitality and personal popularity are too well known for comment. The compiler of these facts wishes to congratu late Mr. Warren upon his success, it is men of his caliber who make a city grow and expand into a metropolis of which the people are proud. We wish to congratulate Mr. Warren upon his success and wish him continued happiness and success. C. MARSDEN SMITH UNITED TIRE AND EQUIPMENT CO. For many years C. His large business in terests, centering over a long period in the tire and equipment business has been supplemented by many civic connections and im portant services in public life. As one of the business leaders it is natural that Mr. Smith’s services are sought in the pub lic interest. Accordingly, he has helped in many civic projects for the betterment of the city and state. He has always met his re sponsibilities with outstanding ability. Mr. Smith is numbered among those who largely through their efforts and business ability have achieved a high degree of success and at all times he has manifested a keen interest in the civic development of Ashe ville and trade area. But it is as a man who loves his fellowman, who wants to do good among them and help make Asheville a better place for them to live in that he is known. That desire is upper most in him. He is always ready and never fails to give without stint of his time and himself to al whose who are in need of any help. His wisdom and advice in bus iness matters is considered of the utmost value by the many with whom he comes in daily contact. As an eminent citizen of Asheville, the citizens have frequently paid him tribute and given expression to the high regard in which he is held, it re flects the considered estimate of his fellow citizens and is drawn from their observation of his life in Asheville.
